Hello! Welcome back to my journey of making a game, If you haven't read my first devlog, then go check it out.

-MONDAY, JULY 20TH, 2020 : 11:10 AM-

Last time I left off at making a rigidbody and a box collider for the player! And as of the ground, I only added a box collider so it doesn't fall. And now I have to script my player controller, and it wasn't too hard with the help of Brackeys (totally recommend him if you need help in Unity), And now I have to work on player animations, because I only made a idle animation, I'm going to make a run and jump animation for now. So I'm gonna take a quick break and get back to work.

So, I've decided to make 1 - 2 devlogs every so often, I'm not planning to make profit off of this game, since this is the first time I've tried making a game. But hopefully I can do well.  I started working on my player movement script, by starting off by referencing to a character controller I found online. Heres a screenshot.

And that concludes the first (official) devlog of my platforming journey! I got a player controller which can jump, and move around, in the next devlog, I want to work on player animations.  Cya!

I got it to work! My recommendation is to make the 1st level a little bit easier, its pretty hard, but thats just coming from me, im not the best at platformers.

Uh oh, windows calls it a virus and also avast doesnt allow it, so im sorry, I wish I could run it

'Aight! Got the file! Ill try it out! (currently working on next part of devlog.)

oof, cant pay for that, sorry.

Yeah sure! Send me the link!

alright! thanks for the tip!

Thank you for the support! Hopefully when I'm older i can maybe turn this into something big!

Hello! My name is David, I am 13 years old, and I've been trying to learn C# for the past week, but cant really get too far, but Brackeys has been a great help to me when starting off, so yeah! Lets get to the log part of devlog!

- MONDAY, JULY 20TH 2020-

So, as most Unity games start off, I create a new project, and I've already made pixel art place holders for the character, but right now I only have a idle animation. I definitely got to start working on run animations, and also get some help from my helper, Brackeys, and also start working on the movement script, and for some reason, the floor tiles that I made dont quite fit with the tile mapping, so im just going to drag and drop it onto the scene, whip on a box collider, a box collider (for the player) and a rigidbody for physics! the only disadvantage with making a character with a different program, is that you cant make a ragdoll. And dont get me wrong, i LOVE ragdolls. This will conclude my introduction as a 13 year old trying to learn C#! Ill see you guys next time!

I had fun making the game, including since i was a beginner. Thanks for giving me the greatest beginner game jam experience alon! :)
